The collaborative platform for Special Education Teachers

Autism Tracker’s works best for just one family or one special ed teacher. Its sister app Birdhouse for Special Education allows a team of collaborators to work together live. Teachers, parents, and therapists can document students’ behavior, therapy, and progress individually, then share their work with their team instantly. Please be aware that the data of Autism Tracker does not flow into the Birdhouse platform. The Birdhouse for Special Education app is a solution all by itself. It is offered as a subscription service. There is a free level available, premium features come with a monthly or annual subscription. We think its a great tool for focus on team collaboration. Apps for helping autistic kids socially and academically San Jose Mercury News:

Drennan says one of the greatest challenges for parents of an autistic child with flawed communication skills is knowing what’s bugging the child when he or she’s having a bad day. “They can’t tell you why they’re upset,” she says, “but this app helps monitor their behavior and with its feedback can help identify what could be the cause of the stress they’re feeling.”

Using several tools in the app to describe the child’s “Happiness” — “Not at all,” “Just a little,” or “Somewhat,” for example — as well as his activity level and even the weather outside, the Tracker lets a parent chart a kid’s behavior across a period of time. Often, says Drennan, a pattern will emerge to indicate what might be causing a child to act out. For example, a child may show signs of stress at the beginning of each week, or after a change in diet, or even during certain types of weather.

Love how customizable it is! Perfect for challenging behavior tracking for a large caseload. Parents/Staff can track for me too and send the data remotely!!! This app completely changed the way I collect data (and do my “paperwork”)!

I am a BCBA trying this app both in the school setting and with helping to get more consistent data collection with private clients. Overall I have had good response. My four stars comes from the app occasionally closing itself while I am using it (switching screens etc). I do not lose my data so it is not a fatal flaw, just inconvenient to reopen when it happens.
